75. Inch worm

Most caterpillars are sluggish creatures and feed on plants.

But a group of 20 flies found in Hawaiian islands are fly hunters!

These caterpillars known as inch worms ambush the flies when they land.

They lunge at the flies with six tiny (1/12 inches long) claws.

They lie in wait among the forest leaves.

Their eyes are not of much help.They rely on the sensitive hair at their backs.

When a fly brushes against the hair, they strike out and consume the fly whole.

These caterpillars grow to a length of one inch.

They move in a curious fashion.

They draw the tail right up to the head forming a loop and

then stretch the head to the front as if they are measuring the ground.
