Rabbits can breed very rapidly.

A female can produce a litter of 9 young ones

after a gestation period of just 31 days.

She can become pregnant almost immediately and

thus manage to produce up to six litters in a year.

If a pair of rabbits bred to their maximum capacity

with no loss of the offspring, they could produce a family

more than 33 million animals within three years!
