113. High on a tree

Some tree frogs of tropical South American forests lay their eggs

in the packets of water that collect at the bases of leaves

in the bromeliads high in the trees.

The young frogs have a safe nursery high up

and often spend most of their time in the bromeliads.

They come to live on earth only when they are fully grown.
