58. Double Headed?

Some insects appear to have heads at both ends of their bodies! A number of hair streak butterflies have

protuberances on their hind wings which look like the frontal antennae – when they rest with their wings

folded. As soon as the butterfly lands, it turns rapidly so that its head points the direction from where

it had just flown.

The quick change of the direction and the false head deceives the predators.

The birds pounce on the head so that they can tackle any movement of the butterfly.

But hair streak butterfly just takes off in the opposite direction deceiving the bird.
